Dear Steenbergers

Congratulations to our Girls’ Soccer Team on an excellent performance in their very first match, ending in a hard-fought 1–1 draw against Ocean View High School. Under the leadership and guidance of their coach, Ms M Johnson, the team displayed determination, teamwork, resilience, and true sportsmanship on the field. This is only the beginning, and we are excited for what lies ahead for our talented young athletes.

We also celebrate our dedicated Interact Club members, whose spirit of service and compassion continues to make a meaningful difference in our community. Through generous donations and committed teamwork, the club was able to deliver soup jars to an old age home in Steenberg, where they were warmly received and deeply appreciated by the residents. This wonderful initiative was led by Ms N Carelse and Mr Z Geyser, whose commitment to community upliftment continues to inspire our learners.

Today we celebrate more than results and achievements — we celebrate the spirit of camaraderie, kindness, commitment, and unity shown both on the sports field and through community outreach. We are incredibly proud of all our learners and staff who continue to represent our school with excellence and heart.

Well done to everyone involved! 🌟👏

Today we bid farewell to a true pillar of Steenberg High School, Mr C. Biegnaar, as he retires after an incredible 40 years of dedicated service.

For four decades, Mr Biegnaar gave wholeheartedly of himself to the learners, staff, and the broader community. Serving with humility and quiet strength, he made a lasting impact not only in the classroom but throughout the school. As Departmental Head of Commerce, he led with integrity and purpose, always striving for excellence. In his role as Acting Deputy Principal, he continued to guide and support the school with wisdom and care.

Mr Biegnaar will especially be remembered for his passion for Accounting. His lessons were engaging, meaningful, and inspiring—consistently producing learners of the highest quality who were well-prepared for their futures. He had a remarkable ability to make learning come alive, and his commitment to his learners never went unnoticed.

Beyond his professional achievements, it is his humility, kindness, and unwavering dedication that have left a lasting legacy at Steenberg High School. He served not for recognition, but out of a genuine love for education and his community.

As he embarks on this new chapter, we thank him for the countless lives he has touched and the difference he has made over 40 years. His legacy will continue to live on in the hallways of our school and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wishing you a retirement filled with rest, joy, and all the happiness you so richly deserve, Mr Biegnaar. You will be deeply missed.

Dear Steenbergers

We are incredibly proud of our matric learner, Jade Caesar, who recently delivered an outstanding performance at the Western Cape Championships held in Stellenbosch on Friday, 13 March 2026. Jade achieved an impressive 2nd place in the U/19 Javelin event, earning him the honour of being selected to represent the Western Cape at national level! 🇿🇦

This is a remarkable achievement, and a true reflection of Jade’s dedication, discipline, and hard work. We congratulate him on flying our school’s flag high and wish him every success as he prepares for the national competition.

To support Jade and his family with the costs of travel and participation, our school will be hosting a Civvies Day on Thursday, 19 March 2026, where learners are encouraged to contribute R5, with additional donations welcomed. All proceeds will go directly towards assisting Jade on his journey.

We would also like to extend an invitation to our wider community 🤝
If any parents, guardians, local businesses, or community members would like to contribute in any way—whether through donations, sponsorship, or fundraising assistance—your support would be greatly appreciated. Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference.

Let’s come together as a community to support Jade as he takes on this exciting national opportunity! 💪✨
