Dear parents/guardians/learners/x-learners…….

So 2 weeks ago the school decided to restart the athletics programme…after a 2 year Covid absence …initially it was the 260 grade 8s… with the old school team slowly joining the practice session….too late to enter the A-section southern zone… we opted for the A-section False Bay Zone… which took place Wednesday past at Greenpoint Sadium… congrats to the team who placed 2nd … a few points behind Zandvliet… the future indeeds looks bright with so much talent in the grade 8 and 9 band… many qualifying for the Champs of champs taking place tomorrow and Saturday…. Mr Van Wyk … can you please delay your overdue retirement for another 5 years 🙏🏻

To Darren and Dillan Isaacs… thanks once again for adopting a Matric learner ( 4 year in a row) and seeing to their financial needs for the full year ahead

Memorial service held for the late Mr Moolman on the 20th January : special guests and family all in attendance… followed by tree planting ceremony in the garden of remembrance… the place where Mr Moolman spent many hours tending and watering … RIP Sir 🙏🏻

MNR MOOLMAN
DIE HEENGAAN VAN 'n LEGENDE Dit is met groot skok en hartseer dat ons verneem van Mnr Moolman se heengaan op 3 Januarie 2022. Ons dra ons innige meegevoel oor aan Mev Moolman, die familie, vriende en kollegas. God het hom geskape met 'n hart wat oor geloop het van liefde, sagmoedigheid en nederigheid.
Hy was ook geseend met sterk hande wat hy gebruik het om enige taak met volle oorgawe uit te voer en God te eer. NIKS was vir Mnr Moolman te veel om te verrig nie. Hetsy dit was om heeldag, ten spyte van die hitte, die gras van die skool se sport veld te sny, klaskamers te verf gedurende die vakansies, vloere te was, die swaar kookpotte van die voeding skema skoon te maak, to maintain hygienic conditions in the ablution blocks, swaar meubels en rekenaar hardeware aan te dra, vloere te was en politoer, trappe te help bou, bome te snoei, dreine skoon te maak, pakkamers te organiseer, kantore skoon te maak of die grond by die kantore lekker te dol...Mnr Moolman was die eerste om hand by te sit wanneer borge produkte by die skool aflewer. Daar was absoluut GEEN nodigheid om vir hom te vra om te help nie.
Yes, he was also the only one permitted to operate the school's ride on lawn mower! Mr Moolman truly personified hard work, commitment, integrity, respect and loyalty. Indeed someone with high moral values and principles.
Hy het, of die son skyn en of die winter storms woed, elke dag, ook sommige Saterdae en Sondae met sy fiets uit Lavender Hill skool toe gery. Daar was talle dae dat sy dag, weens ouer vergaderings, eers 21:00 geeindig het. Het hy gekla of die volgende oggend laat opgedaag...NEE, NIE MR MOOLMAN NIE.
It seemed that Mr Moolman was at his happiest when he worked. He often did not bother having his tea break or lunch. Such was the work ethic and commitment of this icon.
Steenberg was geseend en bevoorreg om n personneellid soos Mnr Moolman te kon he. Daar was en sal net een Mnr Moolman wees. Ek twyfel dat die leemte wat sy heengaan laat, deur enige plaasvervanger gevul kan word.

He was simply larger than life and will be sorely missed.

Mnr Moolman het altyd gese: "Die Here se Genade dra."

May his dear departed soul rest in eternal peace.

You know it’s the home straight for grade 12s when it’s Afrikaans oral moderation. Well done to the learners ( randomly selected by education department officials) and Ms Oliphant who prepared them thoroughly . Ms Truter left a good legacy ….
