Our Grade 10 learners and Portia recently took their Life Sciences learning beyond the textbook, as they explored the structure of the heart through dissection.

It was an excellent opportunity to see what they had been learning about in class come to life, giving them the chance to ask questions, observe closely, and get a better understanding of how the heart is structured and how it works.

🌸 Happy Women’s Day from all of us at Lakeside Education Academy! 🌸

Today, we celebrate the incredible women and girls in our LEA community — our learners, mothers, grandmothers, teachers, staff members, and friends.

May we continue to encourage, support, and inspire one another to grow, dream boldly, and make our mark on the world.

📘📖 Our Grade 5/6 learners recently put their dictionary skills to work during an English comprehension activity with Teacher Megan. As they explored the text, they looked up unfamiliar words, building their vocabulary, strengthening their understanding, and growing in confidence as independent learners.

They also kicked off an exciting History art project, with learners starting to create their World War trench dioramas. It's been wonderful to see their creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail already taking shape.

We can't wait to watch these projects come to life over the coming weeks!

Yesterday we posted about the importance of movement, and today we're celebrating a learner who has taken that message to heart.

Raiden, one of our FET learners, has generously offered to bring his boxing gear to school so that other learners can have a go. 🥊🥊

A regular boxer himself, Raiden has been spending break times introducing interested high schoolers of LEA to the basics, encouraging them to get moving, build confidence, and try something new.

We love seeing our students sharing their passions and learning from one another.

At Lakeside Education Academy, we believe that moving our bodies is just as important as growing our minds. 🧡💚

There's been plenty of excitement in our studio lately, as we recently added punching bags to our studio, and they've been an instant hit, especially with our Intermediate Phase learners!🥊

From building coordination and confidence to simply having fun, our learners have embraced every opportunity to get moving. The energy, enthusiasm, and smiles have been wonderful to see!

🌱 Our learners aren't the only ones learning and growing each term.

Each Tuesday, our teachers take part in a Project One activity, focusing on their own growth and reflections. In a recent session, our teachers looked back at Term 2, where the spotlight was one of our core values: Learning with Purpose.

Together, our teachers and Principal Lauren reflected on learner and teacher growth, celebrated classroom successes, and recognised the support and encouragement they get from each other.

We believe that when our teachers continue learning, reflecting and growing together, our learners benefit too. 🌱
