Inspiratrix Mosaic - Classes, Commissions & high-end Crafts

Inspiratrix is taken from the Latin and means:
“A woman who inspires & delights”

My wish is to inspire people to explore their own creativity. Inspiratrix Mosaic offers more than just a class in mosaic techniques. From my studio in Claremont, I create high-end craft items in mosaic which make ideal gifts, and can be bought directly. Commissions also form part of my business – manufacturing house names and numbers, decorating pizza ovens and benches and creating art pieces for restaurants and private homes.

My latest commission is done and up! Thanks to my hubby Kobus for the great team work. I am also grateful to my client who was clear about what she wanted and didn't rush the creative process.

Local potter John Bauer has asked mosaic artists to create a self-portrait using his ceramic shards and bits and bobs. The final pieces will be used to cover a wall of The Mosaic House in Porterville, Western Cape during the Pure Porterville Festival in October.
This is my work in progress - I have never attempted portrait work before, let alone a self-portrait - and am finding it a fun challenge. I used ceramic wall tiles for my face, stained glass and glass tiles for my hair and eyes.
