Talk: Memory, Repair, Redo in Practice
As South Africa marks the 30th anniversary of its Constitution, this timely conversation examines how artists, curators and cultural institutions can contribute to processes of reparation, redress and collective healing.
Moving beyond the documentation of trauma, the session explores how transformative justice and reparative curatorial practices can create space for accountability, reconciliation and new possibilities. Invited speakers will reflect on their work with contested memory and consider how far the arts sector has progressed in turning the ideals of repair and transformation into meaningful practice.

Double Bill:
Ghoema + Gauteng (for Ebenhaezer)
Ghoema: Rediscovering the Journey of Me is an intimate musical exploration of identity, heritage and belonging. Through storytelling and song, MNIX brings together the rhythms of the Kaapse Klopse, Cape Jazz, folk traditions and Western classical music to celebrate the sounds and memories that shape us.
In Gauteng (for Ebenhaezer), South Africa’s cities become members of a fractured family. Combining spoken word, live music, physical theatre and satire, the production offers a moving reflection on urban life, loss, resilience and the enduring power of memory and connection.
