On the 16th of May 2026, Young Minds had the honour and privilege of hosting guest speaker Bulelani Buja Njobe, the founder of Oracle Green, a business based in Langa. As an entrepreneur, he visited our students to share valuable insights on entrepreneurship, the importance of self-employment, and why young people should begin developing entrepreneurial skills from an early age.
During his inspiring talk, Mr. Njobe shared his personal journey of building his business from humble beginnings and explained the dedication, resilience, and vision required to succeed as an entrepreneur. He encouraged learners to believe in their abilities, pursue their goals with confidence, and understand that entrepreneurship can create opportunities not only for themselves but also for their communities. His story served as a powerful reminder that success often comes through perseverance, hard work, and a willingness to learn.
Young Minds was deeply honoured to host such an inspiring speaker. The knowledge, wisdom, and practical advice he shared left a lasting impression on both students and staff. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Bulelani Njobe for taking the time to invest in our learners and for motivating them to dream bigger, think creatively, and consider entrepreneurship as a meaningful path for their future. His visit was truly a memorable and impactful experience for the Young Minds students.

It has been a very difficult week πͺ, and I kindly ask for your prayers π during this painful time.
I also pray that God draws near to the hearts of his parents and family, as this is a loss that leaves a deep and lasting scar.
I will be attending his candlelight ceremony today at his home in NY82 to receive more information regarding the funeral arrangements.

Ziyanda Baba you are LIGHTβ¨οΈ!!!
Meet Ziyanda Baba
From the heart of Gugulethu, this early-thirties powerhouse is a proud mother to two incredible souls, Zitha & Zenithi, the first-born daughter and first grandchild who turned dreams into action against all odds.
After matriculating at Cape Town High School, financial challenges stopped her from studying further, so she chose hustle instead. She landed a contact centre job, worked just 10 months, saved every cent, and birthed Young Minds her true calling.
Young Minds is an after-school intervention organisation based in Gugulethu. Tutoring children from Grade 1 to 9 English and Mathematics every Saturday from 10:00-14:00. Learners are provided with lunch and a snack.
Now celebrating 10 YEARS of impact in 2026, Ziyanda and her team have positively shaped the lives of over 500 children across Gugulethu and surrounding areas, proving that one determined woman can light up countless futures.
She's the present mum at home, the obedient daughter, the endlessly curious creative who loves exploring new things. In 2021 she turned her garage into a weekend braai spot, selling mouthwatering pork pieces and saving an impressive R36 000 in just 10 months all for Young Minds.
A true self-made thinker with more books than shoes, Ziyanda has taught herself everything she knows. Her passion is undeniable, when she commits, she makes it happen (nditsho sele esenza iTea!).
Young Minds isn't just a project⦠it's THE FUTURE. Unstoppable kids. Unbreakable dreams. All because one woman refused to stop.
Ziyanda Baba, the definition of resilience, vision, and a pure heart.
