Growing old is hard. Growing old without a family is even harder.

Senior dogs are often overlooked, and many people who would love to adopt them worry about the cost of veterinary care.

That's why Cape Dachshund Rescue created the Frosty Face Foster Programme. We match elderly dogs with loving homes, waive the adoption fee where needed, and cover every dog's veterinary expenses for life. Families provide the love - we remove the financial burden.

Right now, we're caring for 85 senior dachshunds. Their veterinary bills average R35,000 every month, funded almost entirely by donations. We have no paid staff or premises - just passionate volunteers and amazing foster families.

This Mandela Day, we're hoping to raise enough to cover six weeks of veterinary care for these precious oldies.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps give a senior dog the comfort, dignity and love they deserve in their final years.

Friday evenings in the hotel and everyone is having a last run before chilling on the couches to watch tv before bedtime

We were very sad to hear of the passing of sweet BellaThePug. Bella was the most amazing girl who powered on despite having diabetes and losing her sight, luckily she was able to have cataract surgery to regain it so she could enjoy a couple more fun years visiting Viennas Village. We know her brother Bruce must be missing his big sister along with Holden and Lex. Sending so much love to her family, she truly was an angel and we will all miss her terribly
