Charity Week is bringing communities & campuses together from across the world. We are undertaking a week of united fundraising for orphans and children in need, to demonstrate the impact of unity.

This year, Charity Week will aim to support a wide range of projects across the globe.

This spans from urgent health interventions for the people of Gaza, life saving aid & education in Sudan and ensuring the Rohingya refugees are not forgotten in Bangladesh.

Your donations will go towards supporting Orphans & Children in Need.

Alhamdulillah 🌸 This year MSA CPUT D6, MSA CPUT Bellville, MSA UWC and MSA UCT are coming together for Charity Week fundraiser hike 🌳.

We uniting to support orphans & children in need worldwide. Our main focus for Charity Week 2025 is on projects in Palestine, Sudan, Bangladesh(Rohingya Refugees) as well as empowering children and communities through education, mental health support, skill development and humanitarian aid. ❤️🌍

In 2025, we mark 1500 lunar years since the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ a milestone that calls for deep reflection and bold ideas. 🌙📚

We’re inviting all South African university students, undergrad and postgrad, from any faith or background to enter the National Essay Challenge, one of the flagship initiatives of the 1500 Years of the Prophetic Legacy Commemoration.

🖋 Your Mission: Write a 2000-2500 word essay on one of three thought-provoking topics, exploring urgent contemporary issues through the timeless Prophetic lens.

🏆 Prizes:
🥇 R15 000 cash + gift hamper + Certificate of Excellence
🥈 R10 000 cash + gift hamper + Certificate of Distinction
🥉 R5 000 cash + gift hamper + Certificate of Merit

We are honoured to invite you to be the first ambassadors of a national legacy project:
The 1500 Years of the Prophetic Legacy: National Essay Challenge for South African university students.

Marking 1500 lunar years since the birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, this initiative calls on students to reflect on his enduring contribution to civilisation through thoughtful and ethical writing. Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students, the essay challenge is not only about prizes, it is about honouring Prophet Muhammad ﷺ model and reviving a tradition of critical, purpose-driven thought.

As MSAs, your leadership is vital. You are the front line of outreach, coordination, and inspiration on your campuses. We humbly ask you to:

1. Promote the challenge widely among your peers, both Muslim and non-Muslim.
2. Host briefing sessions or essay-writing workshops if possible.
3. Appoint a liaison person to help coordinate participation and communication.

We will provide a full MSA Pack with all the details: posters, essay topics, deadlines, and guidelines — everything you need to make this a success, In shā Allāh.

Together, let us make this a national moment of reflection, renewal, and Prophetic honour.
