Ladybird and butterfly,
Buzzing bee up in the sky,
Teeny, tiny little ants,
Crawling up and down the plants.
Many insects can be found,
In the sky and on the ground.

PARENTING TIP – HYGIENE
Young children learn best through play. Turn hygiene routines into a game to encourage healthy hygiene habits:
- Let your child earn a sticker for brushing their teeth, washing their hands, and bathing.
- Sing a 20-second song while they wash their hands.
- Use colourful toothbrushes and child-friendly toothpaste to make brushing exciting.
Lead by example. Children love to copy adults. Brush your teeth and wash your hands together so they can learn by watching you.

Stop, look and listen, before you cross the street.
Use your eyes, and use your ears, before you use your feet.
Use this week's Activity Cards to help your child learn more about safety.

WHAT WE VALUE – BUILDING TEAM
At Peak Child, we deeply value the spirit of Mandela Day and the powerful reminder that each of us can make a difference through acts of kindness, service, and compassion. At Peak Child, one of the ways we did this was to host a team building session for our nine Peak Child Principals on Mandela Day. It was lovely morning in their busy schedules where they could celebrate each other, have a lot of fun and get to know each other better over a delicious lunch. We believe these moments help nurture the empathy, responsibility, and sense of community that we strive to instil in our children every day. Together, we continue to honour Madiba's legacy by building a caring and connected community.

"We can fly in a plane or ride on a train.
In a boat, we will row. Lets go, go, go!
We go near, we go far, in a bus or a car.
We go high, we go low. Here we go, go go!
This week's theme is Transport. These Activity Cards will show you more."

When I grow up I'll have a job to do,
I'll write a book or be a cook,
Drive a train or fly a plane,
Or be a doctor helping those in need,
Or teach children to write and read.
This week we learn about the world of work. Take a look at our Activity Cards to learn more.

PARENTING TIP – BOOSTING YOUR CHILD’S IMMUNE SYSTEM
Winter has arrived. A strong immune system helps your child fight off common colds and flu and to stay healthy as they grow. You can support it with these everyday habits:
Offer a variety of fruits and vegetables. Each brings essential vitamins and antioxidants that help protect your child’s body.
Children need around 11–14 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period. Good quality rest helps their immune system recharge and function properly.
Simple habits like handwashing (especially before meals and after play) can go a long way in preventing the spread of germs.
