Our courageous group of young men, who successfully went through our Men Show Courage event at the Mbekweni Youth Centre in Paarl.
They're now equipped and determined to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) πͺ
Thank you once again for our amazing facilitators!
21/09/2023
β¨Thought-provoking insights from our Men Show Courage event discussions on gender-based violence:
π¬ Group 1's insight: "Don't hesitate to do what's right, educate yourself, and surround yourself with positivity and supportive people."
π¬ Group 2's perspective: "Men's role in fighting GBV and how fathers can engage with their sons should become the norm. Discussing issues, staying active through sports β all crucial."
π¬ Group 3 emphasizes: "Men should actively participate in these discussions and explore diverse paths for progress."
π¬ Group 4's perspective on the causes of GBV: "It stems from men abusing their power and authority, a belief perpetuated by society."
π¬ Group 5 suggests that the reason some men oppose GBV could be linked to upbringing and having a loving family or often lack positive father figures.
We love how these discussions allow them to reflect and give their different perspectives.
Together, we're making progress towards the fight against GBV.
Thank you to all for participating, and a heartfelt thanks to our facilitators for guiding us on this important journey. πͺ
