On the 18th of April 2019 our school held a reading competition which was aimed at promoting reading.
“When reading, you enhance your knowledge and improve your vocabulary.” said Mr Sandla when asked about the impact of reading. The competition was a success as we were able to find tough competitors from every grade available to us as the school.
Our local library also helped by providing us Ms Nyoka. Thanks to our judges Mr Qalinge and Nonceba Ngcokovam from the City of Cape Town. All prizes were sponsored by The Bookery. A learner who stood out was Analo Duda, a Grade 8 learner. Analo’s potential is starting to unveil itself.
Next term is very promising with more participants as this term competition was a hit. We look forward for IsiXhosa reading competition. Every learner who took part in this competition deserves recognition because they are all champions.
