As part of our inquiry-based project on Natural Disasters, our Grade 2 boys put their learning into action by designing and building LEGO structures that needed to withstand an earthquake.
The structures were tested through three different levels of earthquakes, and the boys discussed what made some structures more stable and what they could have changed to make their buildings stronger.
The challenge encouraged problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration, while helping the boys understand the importance of strong foundations, balance and stability.
A fun and hands-on way to wrap up our Natural Disasters theme.

The Grade 3 boys were treated to an Adventure talk by Diana Johnson from “Teach the Wild” where they got to learn about different animals and how to be explorers. The boys were shown how to identify animal tracks, spot camouflaged insects as well as identify animals based on their fur or feathers. They learnt about the role every living thing has in our ecosystem. What a fascinating experience for our boys!
