Many of you will have seen the claim that 10% of children were not fathered by the guy who thinks he is the father. It turns out that women aren't quite so untrustworthy. A recent study looking at how closely y-chromosomes track surnames in men suggest the figure is more like 1-2%

Of course the percentage of extramarital daliances is much higher because not all of them result in a pregnancy (and not all of those carried to full term anyway.) 12.5% of American women (1 in 8) admit to at least 1 and the real figure is certainly higher.

Just saw a study that showed 50% of women and 18% men in the US admitted to have been s*xually harassed. Women make up 15% of the military. What do these numbers tell us?

I made some reasonable assumptions about proportions of g**s and le****ns in the US military and a double standard on taking s*xual harassment seriously. I calculate that, unless women are more likely to be s*xual predators than men, s*xual harassment of women is at least 12.9 times more likely to be prosecuted as s*xual harassment of men. At that double standard every soldier has an 8.7% chance of being a s*xual harassor. If the double standard against men were 20 fold then males have a 8.8% chance and women a 5.3% chance of s*xually harassing someone.

The chance of male harassing someone is fairly consistent, around 1 in 11. The chance of women s*xually harassing someone could be anywhere between 1 in 11-18.

That a woman's propensity for s*xual predation is that high is noteworthy - as is the extent of the double standard.

The rich give a larger proportion of their income to charitable causes that the middle class. In the US the bottom 40% basically don't give anything and there is a steady increase from 0.1% to 1.4% of after tax income as on goes from the middle 20% to the top 1%.

Only 30.6% of 'charitable' contributions go to the poor. The largest proportion -32% - goes to churches (only 8% of which goes to religious benevolences for the poor), 13% goes to education (only 2.9% to scholarships for the poor), 8% goes to health services (only 0.9% to health services for the poor), etc.

Just read a study of the resubmission of previously published articles in a very respected psychology journal with an 80% rejection rate. 89% of the resubmitted articles were rejected. That articles previously published in the same journal had the similar rejection rates as 1st time papers suggests that the rejection or acceptance of psychology research results is essentially random - like coin tosses.

Actual cup sizes are distributed as follows - AA 2%, A 15%, B 44%, C 28%, D 10%, DD and larger 1%.

This means that women with either AA or D+ sized b***s have an excess of male admirers.

The more men a woman has had s*x with the more likely she is to have had s*x with a woman too, and the correlation is strong. On the other hand how promiscuous a man has been with women has no bearing at all on the likelihood of them having had s*x with other men.

The wealthiest 1% of the US account for 21.8% and the top 5% half of all medical spending in the US, while the bottom half of the population get only 2.9% of medical spending. Unsurprisingly life expectancy of those who didn't finish high school is actually declining.

On average, American p**n stars are the average height, weight, hair colour and bra size of normal Americans. The only marked difference is weight: p**n star women have BMIs of 19,5, and men's BMIs are 23. Average American men and women: 28,7 (2010).
