Bible Word: Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

The divine service was conducted by Rector Zondre Bantom, serving alongside him was Priest Denzil Sauls.

Our Male Choir beautifully sang God Is Liefde in preparation for the Ruby Blessing (40 years) of Retired Priest John Eli and his wife, Sister Mariam Eli. Congratulations to them.

Isaiah chapter 40 is a turning point. After warning, the Prophet brings divine comfort.

We all have moments when we feel drained - physically, emotionally and spiritually. Like the Israelites, we ask: Lord, are You aware of what I am going through?

The answer is YES. The God who numbers the stars and calls each one by name, knows each of us. He knows what brought us into His presence today. He knows every hair on our head. He is everlasting and never changes.

God does not overlook us. He is ever-present. He may not answer in our time, but He answers. He can deal with our complicated lives and strengthen us in our weak moments.

Waiting on the Lord is never a waste of time. It is surrendering everything to Him. When we go through seasons of trial and tribulation, the Lord renews our strength, we need nothing else.

If what is on the ground weakens us, the Lord lifts us up like an eagle - high above, to give us clarity and perspective, to see what He has in store for us.

They shall run and not be weary. The evil one wants to make us weak, but the Lord gives us sustenance and sustaining power. When we say we live for the Lord, we surrender - even the things we cannot do on our own, like forgiving.

Let us choose the Lord today and every day, and with Holy Communion, take it with the intention that God will strengthen me.

✨ SUNDAY SERVICE | 20 September 2026 | Tafelsig ✨

Bible Word: Deuteronomy 28:2 (NKJV)
"And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God."

What a blessed Sunday! Our District Rector Clarence Cookson held his first divine service in Tafelsig Congregation and was received with open hearts. Serving alongside him was Priest Lori-kay Sampson.

As humankind we associate blessing only with prosperity, a good job or when things go well. But true blessing is so much more.

God did not promise to take away all sickness or struggle, He promised us something no one else can give: Eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. He left the comfort of His Kingdom, took our sins away, broke the power of death, and gave us rebirth. Like the lady at the well, Jesus meets us where we are. He knows us, and His promise remains: "No one shall pluck them out of My hand."

Just as in the time of Moses they listened to the voice of God, we too must listen, trust Him and obey. When we come to the temple stressed and burdened, His Word strengthens us and shows us how to walk in his alignment.

We are all sinners, yet no one is a stranger here - everyone belongs
When we are blessed, we become a blessing. Let us not just keep the blessing, but share the Gospel and be a blessing to others.

TAFELSIG CONGREGATION - SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2026

Bible Text: Acts 5:42 "And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ."

On Sunday, our congregation was blessed with a cross-booking divine service conducted by District Rector Wayne Cicilie, served alongside Rector Michael Bell.

We must have the desire to meet the Bridegroom of our souls. Jesus asks, "Will He find faith when He comes?" This longing should burn in our souls. The Lord today speaks about a temple, a church. Many people don't have a building, some sit under a tree, but the important part isn't the building, what is important is that we apply the knowledge we receive in the house of the Lord.
We must testify in our family circle and share experiences of faith when we come together. We speak about His mercy and His goodness. In our friendship, work and school environments, Jesus wants us to tell our friends, "Jesus loves you too." Let us profess the gospel, and proclaim that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We will be victorious when Jesus comes, with this in mind.

Jesus praised God in the Jewish temple and went from house to house so that the Lord's Word is made known. The temple creates the atmosphere of praise and worship. It is a place of worship where we acquire knowledge when we hear the Word of God. When we come to church we say, "Lord, mold me." He speaks to us and reveals Himself in the world.When we go from house to house, it is a close-knit conversation of what the Lord has done for us. Sometimes we find ourselves in trying times when it is an uphill battle. We reference the Bible text and the knowledge of the Bible, of Christ, of the first resurrection, and we get that knowledge in the house of the Lord. Our minister shares the knowledge about Holy Communion and the death of Christ and His resurrection, that He died and ascended into heaven. This is the core of the Christian faith - God's love is to save the world. In fellowship circles, He reveals Himself.

We will experience the power of Jesus Christ. Not even death could keep Christ, in death. God is all-powerful, He is your strength, your fortress. Christ will fight for you. Pray and say, "LORD, I need You now," and He will come through for you. We received the instruction from God to go from house to house and to open our hearts.

We are reminded, to partake of Holy Communion, we overcome sin.

Don't be afraid. Just believe!

Bible Text: Colossians 3:12

Surprise Visit from Apostle Bradley Bourne as he conducted Wednesday morning's Divine service, serving alongside the Apostle was Priest Neil Evertson.

The Apostle mentions, Paul wrote to the Colossians. There was trouble in the city. They were involved with evil desires, worshipping everything else but the Lord. They were angry with each other, filled with malice and blasphemy.
The city was famous for clothes. Paul makes a comparison and tells the people that the clothes they have now are old, like their behavior, Old clothes are comfortable. People are comfortable with old behaviors, and they are not shy about it. Paul tells the people, put on new clothes, change your behavior.

The enemy has a nasty habit of telling us we are worthless. He causes us to sin, then says "you are dirty, you keep falling." He wants us to give up. We come to church with feelings of worthlessness or of no value and Satan asks: Why do you still go to church.

But as Christians we follow Jesus Christ, what does Jesus say? Change your clothes to meet Me.
God wants us to put on what's already in us, he says: I have given you everything you need to see Me, you don't need to pay for it, or look for it. You already have it, when you received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
God says: While I am busy with you, You need to see your part as well - be still. I need you to trust Me.God says: You are the elect, holy and beloved. I make you holy. I call you My own. I made you My child. In My eyes you are valued and precious, continue to do what I have asked of you. It makes you holy, and when we are holy, thats where we meet Jesus.The Apostle reference: 1 Peter 2: a portion of verse 9 - You are the chosen generation.
God calls us to walk in kindness, humility, meekness, and long-suffering.

The New Garments:
1. Tender Mercy: When we put on tender mercy, we put on the garments of empathy. Kindness is love in action. We can listen, pray, say thank you, and encourage someone. We can stop gossiping. Put on the garment of love in action.

2. Humility: Jesus humbled Himself for us. When you are humble, you don't retaliate.
Apostle reference:Philippians 2: a portion of verse 3 - Esteem others higher than yourself. Jesus esteemed us higher than Himself, that is why He hung on the cross and died for us. Humility is being prepared to see our brothers and sisters.

3. Meekness / Gentleness and Long-suffering: Long-suffering is another word for patience. Satan wants an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Apostle reminds us that We are His bride. When we do what He asks us to do, He will be pleased with our garments. These garments protect you from sin.
The congregation received the Apostles visit with joy and excitement.
