■The Apostles are the stewards of God's mysteries

“Perfect love creates unity.” This message, shared by Apostle Bradley Bourne while conducting the divine service on Sunday, 26 July 2026, resonated with the members of the Tafelsig congregation.

Called to serve alongside the Apostle was Priest Zondre Bantom, Rector of Tafelsig congregation.

The Bible text that served as the basis for the divine service was Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV): “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

During the divine service, it was emphasised that unity requires humility. Fear is driven away when we live in humility and Christ's perfect love. Through it, we can be united as one, despite our differences.

Through the act of Holy Sealing, 20 babies and 1 adult received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

After serving in the ministry for over 45 years, Apostle Bourne placed Evangelist Clifford October in well-deserved retirement. Apostle Bourne thanked him for his love and dedication to God’s people and His work.

Beautiful hymns were rendered throughout the service, including “Father whate’er of earthly bliss” and “I will magnify thee.”

Following the divine service, Apostle Bourne greeted the members and took photos with Evangelist October, his family and members of the congregation.

Divine Service for the Departed

1 Peter 4:6
For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who
are dead, that they might be judged according to men in
the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

The Divine service was conductor by the District Rector, Priest Denzil Paulse and assisted by Rector, Priest Zondre Bantom

Message:
After His crucifixion, Jesus brought salvation to the realm of the
dead.

-The preaching of the gospel
-The dispensation of the sacraments

Summary
■ After His death on the
cross, Jesus descended into the realm
of the dead and
preached to those in
need of help.
■ As affirmed in the New
Testament, both God’s
word and the sacraments are now accessible to the dead.
