What is the game about? Well, the player takes up the role of Mario, the main character in the series. A second player would take on the role of Luigi, Mario's brother, in a multiplayer mode - with the same plot role as Mario. The players move from the left side of the screen to the right and the aim is to reach the flag pole at the end of each level. Super Mushrooms allow Mario to grow in size, otherwise he loses a life if he is still small, by falling into bottomless pits or running out of time. The game ends when the player runs out of lives. The game also includes some stages taking place underwater, which contain different enemies. In addition, there are bonuses and secret areas in the game. After completing the game once, the player is rewarded with the ability to replay the game with changes made to increase its difficulty.
