At three years old, children learn to manipulate scissors by mastering the "thumbs up" grip and making small snips, progressing to cutting straight lines. Key skills include building hand strength to open and close blades and developing bilateral coordination to hold paper with one hand while cutting with the other.

Spatial Awareness:

Understanding "up" and "down" helps toddlers navigate their environment and develop concepts of where their body is in relation to objects.
