🌸 IT TAKES A COMMUNITY 🌸
Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,
Previously, we spoke about our girls.
Today, we want to speak about the people who stood behind them. 🤍
A vision may begin with an idea, but it takes a community to bring that vision to life.
To every donor who opened their heart and contributed towards making our first DQB function possible, Jazaakumullaahu khayran.
You did not simply contribute towards a function. You contributed towards an opportunity for our girls to learn, grow, challenge themselves and discover what they are capable of.
May Allah accept every contribution as sadaqah jaariyah, multiply your reward and place immense barakah in your wealth. 🤲🏼
And to our parents, a very special Jazaakumullaahu khayran. ❤️
Thank you to those who came to support their daughters, sat in the audience, encouraged them and celebrated them.
And thank you to those who gave their time and energy behind the scenes, helping set up chairs, prepare the hall, purchase what was needed, coordinate from their side and simply stepping in wherever there was a need.
To those who kept asking, “What can I do to help?” we saw you, and we appreciate you.
These may seem like small acts, but collectively, they are what helped make yesterday possible.
And perhaps most importantly, our girls got to see what community looks like: people who don't only ask, “What am I getting?” but ask, “What can I give?” 🤍
A very special and heartfelt Jazaakumullaahu khayran to Sheikh Ismail Londt .
Sheikh, you have always been someone who is ready to step in and assist, no matter what the task may be.
Not only what you did for this function, or all the times you've assisted, You played a significant role in helping us with something that has become such an important part of our identity, the name Dārul Qamar lil Banāt. 🌙
We are truly grateful for your continued willingness to assist, advise and support whenever needed.
May Allah place barakah in your knowledge, your time and your wealth, accept your efforts as sadaqah jaariyah, and continue to make you a means of khayr wherever you go.
Jazaakumullaahu khayran wa ahsanal jazaa. 🤲🏼
To our MC and sound team, thank you for helping bring the programme together and ensuring that the day ran smoothly.
And to our community at large, thank you for showing up for our girls and believing that they deserve spaces where they can learn, grow, discover themselves and be celebrated.
This program reminded us that DQB is not built by one person.
It is built by people who give, serve, support and believe.
To every person who played a part, whether your contribution was seen by many or known only to a few:
We see you.
We appreciate you.
And we make du‘aa for you. 🤍
May Allah accept every effort, every contribution, every sacrifice and every du‘aa made for our children.
May He place barakah in what we have begun and allow it to grow into something that benefits our girls, our families and our community for generations to come.
Jazaakumullaahu khayran. 🌸

Dārul Qamar lil Banāt
Dārul Qamar lil Banāt, a nurturing Islamic learning space for girls focused on Qur’an, character, and emotional wellbeing.

🌸✨ And just like that… our first DQB function is in the books! ✨🌸
A day filled with Qur’aan, inspiration, courage, laughter, beautiful memories… and of course, a few whacky moments along the way! 😂🤍
From the serious to the silly, these photos capture a little bit of the joy, personality and spirit of our girls. 🌸
Here’s to stepping out of our comfort zones, trying new things, making memories and growing together.
Scroll through, smile, laugh and celebrate our girls with us! 🥰📸
The Four Women of Jannah — a beautiful beginning.🌙
🌸 THIS WASN’T REALLY ABOUT DQB. IT WAS ABOUT OUR GIRLS.🌸
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
As we reflect on our very first Dārul Qamar lil Banāt function, we find ourselves reflecting on something much bigger than the programme itself.
Today was not really a milestone for DQB as an institution.
It was a milestone for our girls.🤍
From the very beginning, our vision for DQB has been about more than what happens inside a classroom.
Yes, we want our girls to learn Qur’aan.
Yes, we want them to gain knowledge.
Yes, we want to nurture good character.
But we also want to give them something that is just as important:
A platform to discover themselves.
A space where they can recognise their strengths, develop confidence, find their voices and slowly, but surely, come out of their shells.
A space where they can try.
A space where they can make mistakes.
A space where they can learn from those mistakes and try again.
Because growth doesn't happen when we are constantly afraid of getting something wrong.
Growth happens when we are given the courage and safety to try. 🌱
And that is what today was about.
Were there mistakes? Of course.
Were there moments of nervousness? Absolutely.
Was everything perfect? No.
And that is perfectly okay.
Our girls are not expected to stand on a stage for the first time and suddenly have the confidence and composure of someone who has been doing it for years.
They have to start somewhere.
Today, some stood in front of an audience with their hearts racing.
Some had to overcome their nerves.
Some perhaps forgot what they had practised.
Some surprised themselves with what they were capable of.
And every single one of those moments is part of the journey.
So to our parents, we ask that you don't allow the mistakes to become the story your daughter remembers from today.
Instead, let her remember:
I tried.
I stood up.
I was brave.
People believed in me.
And next time, I can do even better.
🌱 This is self-discovery.
🌱 This is self-development.
🌱 This is growth.
And this is where we hope DQB can play a small part in the lives of our girls.
Over time, we want to build platforms where they don't simply participate, but eventually lead.
Where they learn to speak.
To organise.
To make decisions.
To work together.
To take responsibility.
To serve.
To discover talents they never knew they had.
And ultimately, to take the torch from us. 🕯️
Our dream is not to hold the torch forever.
Our dream is to prepare them to carry it.
To one day see these young girls become confident young women who know who they are, understand their purpose, recognise the gifts Allah has placed within them and use those gifts to benefit others.
Today was simply one small step towards that dream.
And perhaps years from now, when our girls look back at photographs from this first function, we hope they will smile and say:
“That was where it started.” 🤍
To our girls:
Don't be afraid to try.
Don't be afraid to make mistakes.
Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
And don't ever believe that you have to be perfect before you are worthy of being given an opportunity.
Give yourself permission to grow.
We believe in you.
And more importantly, we want you to learn to believe in yourselves.
May Allah nurture each of you, protect your hearts, increase you in beneficial knowledge, give you confidence without arrogance, courage without recklessness, and allow you to discover the beautiful potential He has placed within you.
May He make you women of Qur’aan, knowledge, character, confidence and purpose.
And may He allow Dārul Qamar lil Banāt to be a place where you can learn, grow, discover and become. 🌸
This is only the beginning.
Dārul Qamar lil Banāt 🌙
Creating spaces where our girls can learn, grow, discover and become.
Assalāmu ‘alaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,
Alḥamdulillāh, we are excited to announce that Dārul Qamar lil Banāt will be hosting its very first community event on Sunday, 16 August, at Masjidul Ummah, inshā’Allāh.
This is a very special milestone for our madrasah, and we are truly grateful to Allah ﷻ for granting us this opportunity.
One of the core aims of Dārul Qamar lil Banāt is to nurture confident, knowledgeable young Muslim girls who are able to positively contribute to their community. As part of this vision, our girls will have the opportunity to participate in the programme in different ways. Some of our students will be sharing a short naṣīḥah on a topic close to their hearts, while others will be taking part in a nasheed presentation, inshā’Allāh.
We believe that opportunities like these allow our girls to step outside their comfort zones, develop confidence, strengthen their public speaking skills, and learn the importance of sharing beneficial knowledge with others. More importantly, we hope to nurture within them the confidence and courage to become positive role models within the Ummah.
🌙 Programme Details
🗓 Date: Sunday, 16 August
🕌 Venue: Masjidul Ummah, Ottery/Lotus River
🕤 Time: 9:30 AM until just before Ẓuhr, inshā’Allāh
We would love to have all our mothers present to support and encourage our girls on this memorable occasion. Your presence and encouragement will mean so much to them, especially as they step forward to share their naṣīḥah and participate in front of the community.
This event is not only a milestone for Dārul Qamar lil Banāt, but also an opportunity for our girls to experience what it means to contribute, to share beneficial knowledge, and to grow together as a community.
Kindly let us know if you will be attending so that we may plan accordingly.
We ask Allah ﷻ to place immense barakah in this event, make it a means of benefit for our students, our parents and the wider community, and grant every one of our girls confidence, sincerity and success. May Allah ﷻ allow this to be the beginning of many more beautiful opportunities for our madrasah and our girls.
Āmīn, yā Rabbal-‘Ālamīn. 🤲🏼
Jazākumullāhu khayran for your continued support and encouragement. We look forward to sharing this very special milestone with you, inshā’Allāh. 🌸

As teachers, our responsibility is not only to step into the classroom and pass on what we know, but to constantly return as students ourselves.
Knowledge is not something we “complete”, it is something we carry, nurture, and keep seeking.
Every child we teach deserves the best version of us. And that means growing… learning… refining… and deepening our understanding so that what reaches their hearts is sincere, sound, and impactful.
I recently added Muhammad ﷺ The Perfect Teacher (translated from الرسول المعلم) to our madrassah library, a beautiful reminder that the greatest teacher to ever walk this earth was our beloved Nabi ﷺ.
If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught with mercy, wisdom, patience, and deep understanding, then how can we not strive to better ourselves for the sake of those entrusted to us?
To teach is an honour.
To keep learning is a duty.
To improve is an act of love for the Ummah.
May Allah make us teachers who never stop seeking, and students who never stop growing. آمين
Alhamdulillah, our little end-of-term celebration was filled with smiles, laughter, cake, and precious memories. 🎂✨
This was extra special as we celebrated one of our girls’ birthdays alongside our term-end party. The girls enjoyed some sweet treats, played Uno, laughed together, and simply enjoyed being children. In fact, madrasa had ended two hours earlier, yet they were still happily playing and spending time together.
SubhanAllah, these are the moments that become part of a happy childhood. The moments that seem small today, a slice of cake, a game of Uno, laughter with friends often become the memories that stay with us forever.
Years from now, when these girls are married and have children of their own, they may not remember every lesson or every day, but they will remember how they felt. They will remember the joy, the friendships, the celebrations, and the feeling of belonging. These are the stories they will one day share with their own children.
Creating a space where our girls feel loved, valued, celebrated, and excited to come to madrasa is everything. May Allah ﷻ bless our girls, preserve their beautiful memories, and allow their hearts to always remain connected to His Deen. Aameen 🤍🌙
