Last year we were privileged to host the first edition of THE GEATEST GIFT, which was held on the 25 November 2023.
We hosted 300 kids in a community, Beacon Valley, Mitchell Plain, where we had a BBQ for them, loads of fun, party packs and more. We also had someone come and talk to the kids about hygiene, teaching them to wash their hands, etc.
We then decided this year, on the 30 November2024 to host the grandmothers of these young ones as most of the grannies take care of their grandkids, due to their parents being addicted to substances and living on the streets, also many of the fathers are in prison.
This past weekend, we had the second edition of THE GREATEST GIFT event where we hosted 70 senior ladies, and we call them The Queens Of Our Age.
It was an amazing event, and we were able to make their day very special and ensure that they were indeed served and felt like the Queens they are
With the help and assistance of various sponsors and donations received, the day was a huge success and each Queen was looked after and made to feel special.
We discovered that the grannies are struggling and hardly get taken care of, or even have the resources to take care of themselves. Government pension within South Africa is minimal and does not cover everything and therefore our hearts was, that the day be all about them and having them relax and just be served good food, good conversation and some lovely gifts .
Our aim with the annual theme of THE GREATEST GIFT is to ensure that we yearly look at the needs in our community and select an initiative and work towards making it a reality and a success.
