The 2025 UNU-WIDER Summer School wraps today at our headquarters in Helsinki.

For our next research seminar, Tim Kรถhler (University of Cape Town) presents new evidence from South Africaโs Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grantโan emergency cash transfer introduced during the pandemic. His research examined how the grant affected job search, self-employment, and employment outcomes, and what it means for social protection in high-unemployment settings.
