Counting and learning about numbers with playdough.
Forming little balls with the the three fingers (tripod grip) we use when writing.

With the forming of little balls, I teach them about duck fingers.
The ring and pinki finger is in the air (that’s the tail) and the thumb, index and middle finger is the beak that eats the little ball.
“Chew chew chew till it is a ball.” 😁👏🏻🤣

Learning new sounds practically is the best way!

We plank everyday!
Why?
Cause their core has to be strong enough for them in Grade 1 when they need to sit up in their chair and work in their books.

Learning is fun!!!

For our weekly sounds, we have physical objects on the table that match the letter - no better way for the little ones to learn a new sound!

We make the sound with our bodies, big blocks, using tactile elements, in sand, in flour, in paint and outside with sticks.

ONLY THEN we move on to writing it on paper.
