Well done! It was a great pleasure helping young filmmakers realise their dreams and giving unrepresented narratives a voice through documentary filmmaking.

And just like that our 7th 'DOCi - Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking Course' is complete.

Over the past 12 weeks, we challenged 12 students, with little to no filmmaking experience, to learn the art of documentary filmmaking and produce12-minute documentaries about issues in their community. We are blown away by their dedication and the work they have delivered.

A special thanks to The Documentary Institute of South Africa, American Corner Cape Town , and Bertha House , without their continued support this programme would have not been possible. They share our passion for documentary filmmaking and using the medium for change. THANK YOU!

Happy

Our passion for documentary film has always been centered around using the medium for more than entertainment, but change and education.

We create opportunities where our contribution could empower people and inspire change. With captivating content and meaningful narratives, we need to open spaces for original voices, and underrepresented narratives.

We'd like to welcome The Documentary Institute of South Africa (DISA) to Facebook.

DOCi and DISA have a long-standing relationship and without their support, we would not be able to offer our 12-week 'Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking' course. DISA acts as our official education partner, facilitating the courses from start to finish. Their courses create a framework for the creation of long and short industry-standard documentaries. They strive to tell gripping stories that have a meaningful impact on both our diverse nation and the international community.
