Arise & Shine Child Care Centre runs four key annual events to achieve its mission of supporting children and families in the community:

1. Community Outreach Day – March
Purpose: To provide essential resources such as food parcels, clothing, and toiletries to vulnerable families within the service area.
Target Audience: Low-income households, homeless individuals, and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

2. Youth Empowerment Workshop – June
Purpose: To equip youth with practical skills, mentorship, and career guidance to improve education and employment outcomes.
Target Audience: High school learners and unemployed youth aged 16-25.

3. Fundraising Gala Dinner – September
Purpose: To raise funds for Arise & Shine’s childcare and outreach programmes while increasing visibility and engagement with donors and corporate partners.
Target Audience: Donors, corporate sponsors, stakeholders, and community leaders.

4. Year-End Celebration & Impact Showcase – December
Purpose: To celebrate the achievements of beneficiaries, share the NPO’s annual impact results, and recognise the contributions of volunteers and partners.
Target Audience: Beneficiaries, volunteers, staff, donors, and partner organisations.

HIV/AIDS Policy for Arise and Shine NPO

HIV/AIDS Workplace Policy

1. Introduction

Arise and Shine NPO is committed to creating a safe, healthy, supportive, and non-discriminatory environment for all employees, volunteers, beneficiaries, and stakeholders affected by HIV/AIDS. The organisation recognises HIV/AIDS as a community and workplace issue that requires education, support, care, and awareness.

2. Purpose of the Policy

The purpose of this policy is to:

* Prevent discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
* Promote awareness and education about HIV/AIDS.
* Encourage prevention and healthy lifestyles.
* Provide support to affected employees, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
* Ensure confidentiality regarding HIV status.

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

* Employees
* Volunteers
* Management
* Beneficiaries
* Donors and stakeholders associated with Arise and Shine NPO

4. Non-Discrimination

No person shall be unfairly discriminated against because of their real or perceived HIV status. Employees and beneficiaries living with HIV/AIDS will be treated equally and with dignity and respect at all times.

5. Confidentiality

All medical information and HIV status disclosures will remain strictly confidential. No employee or beneficiary is required to disclose their HIV status unless they choose to do so voluntarily.

6. HIV Testing

* HIV testing will not be compulsory.
* Testing may only occur with informed consent.
* Counselling should be provided before and after testing.

7. Education and Awareness

Arise and Shine NPO will:

* Conduct HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns.
* Share educational materials with the community.
* Encourage safe practices and healthy lifestyles.
* Promote World AIDS Day activities annually.

8. Support and Care

The organisation will:

* Encourage access to counselling and healthcare services.
* Support affected individuals emotionally and socially.
* Refer beneficiaries to clinics and support groups when necessary.

9. Healthy and Safe Working Environment

Universal safety precautions will be followed at all times to reduce the risk of infection and ensure a healthy environment for everyone.

10. Responsibilities

11. Policy Review
