Darryl and I spent part of our weekend on the West Coast, where we met the enthusiastic chess teachers and administrators from the Upper West Coast sub-district at their school trials in Klawer on Saturday.

The first Chess Elevation tournament for 2026 took place at the Kraaifontein Library from 07 to 09 January 2026. The next tournament will take place on 23 & 24 January 2026 (also at the Kraaifontein Library).
