It's been a busy and productive term, and our Grade 1 learners have been having lots of fun. As part of revising 'ap' in map words, they created their own pirate maps and enjoyed hiding treasure chests from Captain Blackbeard. π΄ββ οΈπͺ This multisensory approach helped reinforce their understanding in an engaging and memorable way. Last Friday, our DEN learners proudly shared their PBL term work in a special assembly. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and pride as they presented what they have been exploring this term.
We also had great fun taking part in some familiar childhood games. While many of us had grown up playing them, it was fascinating to discover how different cultures have their own names, rules, and variations.
We are incredibly proud of each learner and all they have achieved. Well done, everyone! π

At Oakley House, every term begins with a driving question that sparks curiosity and creativity. This leads to meaningful learning through Project-Based Learning. π
This interactive, multi-sensory approach allows our learners to explore concepts in a way that engages all their senses, making learning both accessible and enjoyable. Along the way, they develop important skills such as collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking while working alongside their peers.
This week, we were treated to some wonderful presentations from our Foundation Phase learners as they shared the outcomes of their projects during a special assembly. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and confidence were a joy to see.
Well done to all our learners and teachers on another fantastic term of learning and discovery! π
