Carrying the Qur’an Within Me

From the earliest stirrings of youth, my heart was drawn to beauty — the melodies of music, the colors of the world, and the rhythm of life. As a teenager, music spoke to me. It filled the spaces I didn’t yet know how to articulate. Even as an adult — now a mother of five and a teacher of Qur’an — those echoes remain. My love for softness, beauty, and expression lingers — and so do my imperfections.

Yet beyond all that is fleeting, there is the Qur’an.
It rests in my chest — sometimes heavy with responsibility, other times light with longing — but always present. It is the companion I have carried through every season of my life.

There are moments when Thikr fills the air, and in that moment, my soul awakens. My heart trembles — not from fear, but from remembrance. Tears fall without invitation, because something ancient and divine has been stirred. The sound of Allah’s Name brings stillness to the noise of the world, and I am reminded that this — this — is my essence.

The Qur’an lives in my chest — not perfectly, but sincerely. It’s not about how much I’ve memorized or how many hours I’ve taught. It’s about how deeply it has shaped me. How it continues to heal me. How it calls me back — again and again — every time I stray.

This is my journey. A woman devoted to the Qur’an, wrapped in worldly flaws, but never forgotten by her Lord. Because in the end, and at every beginning, my heart beats with La ilaha illallah — and that alone is everything.
