Got to meet Lize and experience Clamber Club in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town today. This morning, she focused on body awareness, and it was delightful to see the toddlers enjoying all the activities. If you're a mom or adult looking for a fun time with your toddler, I highly recommend it! Lize is amazing, and I found that Clamber Club shares the same values as Play Sense – prioritizing holistic development and joyful learning for children.

I want to take a moment to talk about the extreme importance of sensory play.
This, together with imaginary play, is one of the most overlooked and yet most crucial aspects of toddler development.
This has become evident in not only my Play Sense group, but also in my personal life, as our home is registered as a safehouse for children from adverse circumstances.
Something almost magical happens in a toddler's - and for that matter any child's - brain when engaging into sensory play.
Once their senses are engaged into these different textures, the effect is calming and therapeutic:
We have noticed with traumatized children coming to our home, that they are more willing to share and work through trauma.
Whilst there might be children not going through extensive trauma, every child experiences something that for them is "big", and through sensory play they are able to process, and we as the adults are able to help them co-regulate those big feelings

We love playdough!
Little fingers love exploring it during sensory play activities such as molding little plastic animal shapes in it, but also developing fine motor skills such as pinching off small pieces rolling little balls between fingers.
