Growth Hacks for a Young Business.

A well-functioning sales team is the driving force behind any organization looking to scale and grow. Good sales skills are quite hard to come by and in the beginning its most likely that all the sales (100%) will be done by the Owner and/or Sales Manager.

How do you scale from there, passing down the responsibilities to new agents who have not yet proven themselves without losing sales revenue?

Here’s a few tips:
1. Set the benchmark yourself. You will need to give KPI’s to the new recruits and measure them to a certain standard.
2. Hire 2 new recruits. At the end of this process, you will keep 1.
3. Don’t hand down all the leads at once. You’re the main source of income for the company and by handing down all the leads at once will run the risk of loosing your income while your new recruits are still getting accustomed to their new role.
4. Keep 50% of the leads to yourself and give each recruit 25%.
5. Set a reasonable performance deadline where you will have to decide which recruit you would like to keep, and which one is not a good fit.
6. Use the insights and information you’ve gathered thus far and hire a new agent. Hand down 50% of the leads to the main sales agent, 25% to the recruit and keep 25% for yourself.
7. Keep on with this process until you as owner or sales manager can focus on growing your team with this method and does not have to do sales anymore.
