This week in the Capes, An award winning culinary exchange.

14/09/2026

Cooktastic uses culinary training to equip young people with practical skills and prepare them for opportunities in the hospitality industry.

We were proud to bring two award-winning culinary professionals from Kansas City’s Fox and Pearl KC to share their expertise and experiences with COOKtastic Hub students. Chef Vaughn Good Vaughn Good and butcher Guy Danforth led an engaging session on “The Sustainable Hearth: Zero-Waste Culinary Identity,” sharing insights from their experience in the culinary industry.

At the U.S. Consulate General in Cape Town, we know that culinary exchanges create opportunities for South Africans and Americans to learn from one another, share ideas, and build lasting relationships.

Good food brings people together—and so does cultural exchange! 🇺🇸🇿🇦
