You are invited to attend a discussion by Prof. Zayd Waghid, PhD, an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in South Africa. He is a South African National Research Foundation Chair (SARChI) in Education, Social Justice and Society.
The question around whether Artificial Intelligence (AI) risks undermining or displacing specific cultural values or knowledge practices remains critical. In this talk, we argue that the integration of AI would be better integrated in educational contexts when students are taught to position themselves as critical global citizens.

We were thrilled to welcome the Seattle Seawolves from U.S. Major League Rugby to Cape Town for an exciting exhibition match against the Stormers U23 team at DHL Stadium ππ₯
The Seattle Seawolves are in South Africa for an intensive training camp ahead of the upcoming U.S. rugby season and thereβs no better place to sharpen their game than here!
But the experience went far beyond the field. Their owner and head coach also spent time with us at the American Corner Cape Town, connecting with local coaches, sports medicine professionals, and community members. They shared valuable insights on launching a new sport, building successful teams and leagues, and recruiting talent from around the world including right here in South Africa.
A fantastic exchange of knowledge, passion, and rugby spirit both on and off the field! πΏπ¦πΊπΈ
