H3D Foundation Chair & CEO, Prof Kelly Chibale who also serves as the Founder and Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D), University of Cape Town, recently penned this Op-Ed published in All Africa.

"My experience has taught me that we must proactively seek out, identify, and build on existing entrepreneurial pockets of excellence with established infrastructure and a track record of delivery, leveraging funding and assembling global networks. This approach will provide a far greater absorptive capacity to attract and retain skilled African scientists, including those in the diaspora"

We hope to achieve the following with the event:
• To highlight the importance of creating an absorptive capacity to attract, develop, nurture, and retain skills in Africa
• To identify the best capacity building models and how these models can be scaled and made sustainable
• To highlight the need for a skills roadmap for equitable health innovation by exemplifying mentorship and capacity building models that work.

Meet Dr Vinayak Singh! Vin is a Senior Research Officer in TB and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research.

At Hogwarts, the sorting hat had trouble placing Vin as he is both Ravenclaw and Slytherin having intellect, ambition, is achievement-oriented and shrewd!

Vin wanted to be a magician when he was younger :)🧙‍♂️
