J&J Teams up with African Centre to Find New Drugs to Address Antimicrobial Resistance | Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D)
CAPE TOWN – A new partnership between African scientists and pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson (J&J), aimed at finding solutions to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), was launched in South Africa on Monday.

The theme for this year is "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. Let us work on encouraging and supporting more women and girls to pursue STEM careers whilst bridging boundaries that enable them to do so.

This program is for both beginners and moderate as the course will start with a short introduction to coding program.

• This is strictly virtual.

H3D Foundation Chair & CEO, Prof Kelly Chibale who also serves as the Founder and Director of the Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D), University of Cape Town, recently penned this Op-Ed published in All Africa.
"My experience has taught me that we must proactively seek out, identify, and build on existing entrepreneurial pockets of excellence with established infrastructure and a track record of delivery, leveraging funding and assembling global networks. This approach will provide a far greater absorptive capacity to attract and retain skilled African scientists, including those in the diaspora"
