It may seem like a simple activity, but there is so much learning happening. This is just to name a few:

Gross and fine motor skills at work• Language development in talking through their ideas• Learning to work as a team• Making a plan• Executing the plan together• Using critical thinking skills when they run into an issue• Learning how to utilize one another’s strengths• Learning shapes for the younger kids, while both the younger and older kids learn 3-D spatial visualization.
