Why do children attend Silver Leaf with their caregiver?

The early years are a time of discovery, growing confidence and joyful exploration. At Silver Leaf, children attend alongside their caregiver, sharing meaningful experiences.

Throughout the morning programme, caregivers are encouraged to observe, support and gently guide each child’s curiosity and development. As they participate, caregivers also gain practical ideas to take home, helping to create consistency between Silver Leaf and everyday life.

This shared experience strengthens relationships, nurtures confidence and creates a calm, secure environment where children can thrive.

At Silver Leaf, we believe that young children thrive in calm, thoughtfully prepared environments where they have the freedom to explore, create, move and discover at their own pace.

Our caregiver-accompanied programme for children aged 1–3 years is inspired by Montessori principles and supports the development of curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning through meaningful experiences.

From sensory play and practical life activities to stories, music, movement and time outdoors, each morning offers opportunities for connection, discovery and growth.

We are now welcoming families for Term 3.

After much thought, planning and excitement, I'm so happy to share the beautiful new home of Silver Leaf in Green Point.

Silver Leaf has always been about creating calm, nurturing spaces where young children feel safe to explore, discover and grow. While this chapter looks a little different, the heart behind it remains the same.

From Term 3, we'll be welcoming children aged 1–3 years and their nanny or accompanying adult for mornings of learning, play, connection and discovery in our wonderful new venue.

I can't wait to welcome familiar faces and meet new families as we begin this exciting journey together.

Looking for a gentle, nurturing start to early learning for your little one?

At Silver Leaf, our accompanied morning programme is designed for children aged 1 to 3 and their nannies or caregivers, creating a warm space for play, social development and early learning.

Sweeping, washing dishes, and folding laundry might seem like chores, but to a child, they’re exciting opportunities to develop independence and coordination. Get your child involved in daily tasks to foster a sense of achievement and responsibility.

Through imaginative play, children explore roles and emotions, fostering empathy and creativity. When a child plays with a doll in a cot, they practice nurturing behaviour, developing social and emotional skills as they care for their "baby". This type of play strengthens their understanding of relationships, routines, and responsibility in a gentle and meaningful way.
