Today we said farewell to a stalwart, a pillar of strength and an excellent wordsmith, Mutaqin Rakiep. You left an indelible mark on the educational and social fabric of the Lavender Hill High School community. We wish you well in your retirement and all your future endeavours sir.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Nazeem Daniels. May our Creator ease your pain during your time of bereavement. He was a giant of a man who touched the lives of every student,parent and colleague he came into contact with. An educator par excellence who was humble,sincere, compassionate, hardworking and brilliant. Lavender Hill High is going to miss his voice and presence that always urged our learners to be at their best. He is going to be sorely missed and always remembered.

Indeed, surely we belong to our CREATOR, and to HIM we shall return.

Our Top Learners who intend pursuing tertiary education at UCT Open Day,13 May 2023

On Friday,28 April 2023 our Top 3 learners of each grade and RCL members attended the Suidooster Fees, Desmond Tutu and Leah Foundation and the Artscape Theatre. They were accompanied by Mrs Bassadien, Tyrick Herwel and Sadia Bredenkamp.

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As a former student of LH, I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable guidance, support, and knowledge you have provided me (us) throughout our high school journey.

Reflecting upon my time at LH, I am overwhelmed by the positive impact you had on my personal and academic growth. Your dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to education have inspired me and countless others to strive for excellence and reach our full potential. Your ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment fostered a genuine love for learning within me and others, igniting a thirst for knowledge that continues to drive us today.

Your encouragement and belief in our abilities gave us the confidence to push beyond our perceived limits and pursue success. The lessons I learned under your guidance extend far beyond the classroom walls and will undoubtedly continually shape my future endeavors.

Thank you to the Grade 8 parents and learners for an excellent turnout at the Capitec Foundation and Elevate Education information session in the Fasieg Manie Hall. This is the start of a partnership that will provide LHHS learners with an opportunity to excel academically.
