ABSIP UWC was proud to collaborate with the Young Investors Programme (YIP) and Standard Bank for an engaging information and demonstration session on the Trading and Stock Pitching Challenges.

The session provided students with valuable insights into trading, stock pitching, portfolio construction, and technical analysis, while offering the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals from Standard Bank. Participants also learned more about the initiative and how these challenges can help develop practical investment skills that are highly relevant in today's financial markets.

Beyond the competition, these initiatives create pathways for growth, exposure, networking, and potential opportunities within the Standard Bank CIB Graduate Pipeline.

What a start to the Investment Club!

A huge thank you to our guest speaker, Ralph Speirs, for an incredibly insightful session at our Investment Club opening event. Great turnout from our members, but even better conversation.

Mr. Speirs took us through an introduction to the JSE and what it offers, how to choose industries, and what to consider when picking a stock, as well as highlighted common beginner mistakes to avoid. He introduced the JSE Investment Challenge for university students, and shared practical tools and platforms for researching JSE stocks.
