🐝🌱 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🌱🐝

On 3 August, Springdale Primary had the pleasure of welcoming beekeepers from Make Everything Beautiful to our school. 🏫

Our learners had the opportunity to learn about the importance of bees, their role in our environment, and why it is so important that we protect these amazing pollinators. 🐝🌼

We are especially proud that three of our learners are members of the Green Corner Crew, an eco club in Mitchells Plain that encourages young people to care for and protect our environment. 🌍💚

A big thank you to Make Everything Beautiful for visiting our school and educating our learners. We love seeing our learners becoming young environmental champions! 🌱👏

In Loving Memory of Mr Leon Van Der Rede 🕊️

Springdale Primary School fondly remembers our former principal, Mr Leon Van Der Rede, whose leadership, dedication, and commitment to education left a lasting impact on our school community.

On Saturday, 25 July 2026, Mr Van Der Rede was laid to rest, surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the many lives he influenced and the legacy he leaves behind.

Rest in eternal peace, Mr Van Der Rede. You will always be remembered as a valued part of the Springdale Primary family. 🕊️🤍

As we begin a new term, we were excited to hold our first school assembly at Springdale Primary on Monday, 27 July, led by our Principal, Ms Browne.

Ms Browne encouraged all our learners to reflect on the mistakes and challenges of last term, learn from them, and approach this term with renewed determination and a positive attitude. She reminded everyone that growth comes through effort, perseverance, and a willingness to keep improving.

Here's to a successful term filled with progress, hard work, and achievement. 🌟📚

A huge congratulations to Khloe Nell on an outstanding performance at the National Pool Tournament in Potchefstroom!

Competing in the Doubles Championship alongside her partner, Elijah, they played exceptionally well and fought their way through to the finals, finishing as the Runners-up.

We are incredibly proud of your hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. You have represented our school with pride and excellence.
