After 25 years in Education, I decided to take the plunge and delve into the world of Home Schooling. I bring all my experience, wisdom, creativity and enthusiasm for learning. And most importantly my love for what I do: teach, guide, facilitate, hold, coach, create a space for learning and mentor. Glint Academy is an opportunity to share a learning space with other creative souls who see the world in pictures, colours, shapes and words,numbers and letters too. For those of us who like to stand, sit, move around and lie on the floor while we learn. It's a space for nurturing the creativity within us and not waiting for the throws of adulthood to recover it. Creative Arts is for everyday not just once a week for an hour! It's a place where the gift of who you came to be is the driving force behind your subject choices. The projects you pursue are the pieces of the puzzle in your life that will shape and support you in the future. Glint Academy encompasses the gifts, talents and experience we have to share with children, young adults and families who seek something more free, creative, expansive, practical and fun. It's a place where we practice respect, kindness, care and LOVE as way of being. Where we welcome all emotions so that we can grow, learn and utilise them intelligently. While we are child centred, we also respect the role of the adults who in their wisdom, experience and facilitation make learning happen in a way that supports creativity, individual needs and the reality of needing an education where we can read, write and compute in the practical world. Glint Academy becomes the bridge between learning as a creative free spirit and getting down to everyday practical life. Grounded in its spiritual awareness and practical application of an education necessary for us to function effectively in this world. We can make an impact on our environment and at the same time respect it in all its shapes, forms and colours. We can carve a place for ourselves in this world and we can gently move through it; leaving only LOVE behind and the legacy that defines our special gift to the world. Glint Academy is place where you need to do what you came to do; to be who you came to be and to get on with the practicalities of living in this world successfully. We are a CREATIVE, DYNAMIC AND PROGRESSIVE Cottage School which is creating a pathway for education to take a NEW DIVERSE DIRECTION.
