🎩Gentlemen's Club Session 3🎩

Our third Grade 7 Gentlemen's Club session took place on Friday, 4 September 2026.

This session marked an exciting milestone: the launch of the 2026 Boys' School Belonging (BSB) Programme, researched and developed by Clinical Psychologist, Dr Shahieda Jansen. Dr Jansen has been running this programme at our school since 2024 and trained our facilitators and for the first time Southfield Primary is facilitating BSB on our own! ⭐

The session kicked off with a powerful teamwork activity. The boys learnt that clear communication, active listening, planning, strategising, adjusting tactics and sometimes slowing down are key to success.

The biggest lesson of the day? NEVER EVER GIVE UP! Try and try again! 💪🏿

Thank you to our facilitators for being excellent positive role models as our boys strive to become true gentlemen.

Our second Grade 7 Gentlemen's Club session took place on Friday, 21 August.

The session was facilitated by Mr Syre, our SACAP psycho-social support student. It focused on physical exercises as an analogy for the hard work, discipline and sacrifice needed to achieve their life dreams and goals.

The boys showed incredible endurance and commitment! 💪🏿

Our Grade R learners had so much fun during small group work, mastering their one-to-one correspondence! 🔢✨

They put on their chef hats for a hands-on Mathematics game where they had to build a pizza by matching the exact number of ingredients to their recipe card. The best part? Once their pizza was complete, they got to ring the bell for a teacher to check their order! 🛎️👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

Our Environmental Portfolio joined forces with our enthusiastic Grade R learners for a fantastic day in the garden! Together, they got their hands dirty planting cabbage seedlings and creating a special living display: fenugreek grown to spell out SOUTHFIELD!

It’s wonderful watching our youngest learners discover the joy of growing their own food and caring for nature. Fantastic work, everyone! 💚✨

Our Grade R learners stepped into the shoes of real scientists with a fun capsule-growing experiment! From gathering their materials to carefully following each step of the method, our youngest learners loved watching their tiny capsules transform into colourful animals. 🐘🦁🦏

Hands-on activities like this help our Foundation Phase learners build early observation skills, follow simple instructions and develop a lifelong love for science.
