It has been another busy and exciting week of sport at Camps Bay Primary School, with our learners proudly representing the school across soccer, netball, rugby, squash and chess.

Soccer
Our soccer teams enjoyed a full week of fixtures against The Grove, Hout Bay International, Reddam, Herzlia and Llandudno. The highlight came on Friday when we hosted Somerset House for an afternoon of soccer, with teams from U7 to U13, including our U11 and U13 girls, enjoying competitive matches, developing their skills and showing excellent sportsmanship.

Netball
On Wednesday, our netball teams hosted St Cyprian’s and produced outstanding performances, winning the majority of their matches while displaying determination, teamwork and respect both on and off the court.

Rugby
Saturday saw our U8, U9 and U11 rugby teams host The Grove in a morning of competitive rugby played in great spirit. Our U13A team also enjoyed a memorable tour to Kleinmond and Hermanus, building friendships, strengthening team culture and competing against quality opposition.

Squash & Chess
Our squash team continued their excellent form with a 2–2 draw against Wynberg Boys. Our chess team also impressed, defeating DISA 5.5–2.5 on Friday.

A huge thank you to our coaches, staff, parents, supporters and visiting schools for making these opportunities possible. We are incredibly proud of every learner who represented Camps Bay Primary with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship.

During first break this term, Primary Campus learners will make the most of our incredible surroundings with regular visits to the Little Glen Nature Reserve. With one of the most beautiful natural environments on our doorstep, they will explore streams and discover indigenous flora and, hopefully, fauna, while connecting more deeply with nature.

These visits offer true outdoor play, fostering an appreciation for the environment while allowing children to roam, imagine, and engage meaningfully with the outdoors — a reminder of the importance of letting kids be kids.
