Our school proudly collaborated with Letlhabile SAPS, the local taxi association, and MACUE to host an Anti-Bullying Campaign on 23 April 2026. The purpose of this important initiative was to educate and empower our learners about the dangers and serious consequences of bullying.

Bullying has become a growing challenge in schools across the country, often leading to high absenteeism, emotional trauma, poor academic performance, and even suicidal cases among learners. As a school, we strongly condemn all forms of bullying, as clearly stated in our School Code of Conduct.

This awareness campaign aimed to help learners understand that bullying is not a joke, but a harmful act that can have long-lasting effects on victims and may even lead to criminal charges and imprisonment. One of our guest speakers shared his personal experience about life in jail, encouraging learners to make responsible choices and avoid actions that could destroy their future.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders, guests, educators, and team members who played a role in making this campaign a success.

Together, let us continue to build a safe, respectful, and caring school environment.

Bullying is not good for any of us. Say NO to bullying!

Last month, we invited a former learner who studied Consumer Studies, now working as a chef in the SANDF, to motivate our Grade 12s. His story left a lasting impressionβ€”big up to our learners for being so engaged and inspired!

OFFICIAL NOTICE: CONDEMNATION OF CYBERBULLYING

Jethro Pelle Secondary School strongly condemns the ongoing acts of cyberbullying conducted by certain learners who are misusing the school’s name and emblem without consent. These individuals have created social media platforms to target, humiliate, and insult fellow learners by posting their pictures and making degrading comments.

Such behavior is completely unacceptable and goes against the values, discipline, and code of conduct of our school.

We wish to make it clear that the school will be conducting a full investigation into this matter. Any learners found responsible for these actions will face serious disciplinary measures, and further legal steps may be taken where necessary.

This serves as a final warning to the perpetrators to immediately shut down the page titled β€œJethro Pelle Compliments.” This is now the third time the school has had to address the creation of such harmful platforms, and we will not tolerate any further misconduct of this nature.

Cyberbullying is a serious offense. It violates the dignity and human rights of individuals, negatively affects learner attendance and academic performance, and can cause severe emotional and psychological harm.

We urge all learners to act responsibly, respect one another, and use social media in a positive and constructive manner.
