Second Chance Matric Programme/SCMP
This program is up and running again since 2020.

The aim is:

To offer young people and people in the Overberg communities who have failed to meet the requirements of a SC/NSC a second chance to obtain a matric thereby to improving there quality of life.

A list of registered candidates for phase 1 to write the May/June 2022 examination is available at the Overberg Education District in Caledon.

Groenberg Secondary School in Grabouw is the main venue where online classess will take place, links will be provided with the programme, also a link to register for this classess➡️(below):

Department of Basic Education has requested an audit of that all candidates participating in the Second Chance Matric Support Programme (SCMSP PII). As not all learners have not yet completed the registration process, you are required to complete the following basic information.

Netwerk24 recorded 8 subjects in Afrikaans for matric learners. The subjects are: Afrikaans Huistaal; Engels Eerste Addisionele Taal; Wiskunde; Wiskunde Geletterdheid; Lewenwetenskappe; Besigheidstudies; Geskiedenis; and Towrisme. Link to access

Important link for all those who already registered to write the May/June 2020 NSC examination in the Overberg region. Please add yourself for all important information.

Also to registered for Second Chance free classes in various circuits/parts in the Overberg.

Please take note: Second Chance classes is only for those who are allready registered with WCED to write in MayJune 2020.

The Overberg Community Trust is a registered body and caters for all disadvantaged communities of the Overberg Region which includes the municipal areas of Cape Agulhas, Overstrand, Theewaterskloof and Swellendam.
The Trust offers financial assistance by funding registered welfare, sports and recreation programmes and small business development. Applications can be submitted.
It also awards bursaries for study at recognized tertiary institutions. Applications are invited on the official application form obtained from the offices of the Trust office at: 35 Human Street Caledon. The conditions of award are:
Preference will be given to candidates of unemployed and low income families, Application forms will be available from 1 September 2019, No faxes will be accepted, Closing date for bursary and donations will be Thursday, 31 October 2019 @ 14h00.
Applications are submitted on the understanding that the Board of Trustees may grant or reject any application and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. All applications will be acknowledge.
