Today our DCAPS 3 learners attended a dance workshop that included exploring the following themes:
1. Space, direction and levels through improvisation choreography.
2. Different bodies in space.
3. Communication through dancing.
4. Challenges our learners face regarding intimacy.
5. Everyday actions turned into dance styles through improvisational structures.
Our learners really enjoyed and appreciated this experience. Thank you Sibikwa🤸🏽‍♀️

Vandag het ons DCAPS 3 leerders aan 'n dans werkswinkel deelgeneem, waar hulle die volgende temas verken het:
1. Ruimte, rigting en vlakke deur improvisasie choreografie.
2. Verskillende liggame in ruimtes.
3. Kommunikasie deur dans.
4. Uitdagings wat ons leerders ervaar in verband met intimiteit.
5. Daaglikse aksies wat in dans style kan verander deur improvisasie strukture.

The lessons help our learners to build confidence, learn good manners, improve listening skills as well as teaching them many more important life skills.

Kom reën of koue winde op hierdie reënerige dag, kry ons leerders steeds die beste wat hulle verdien. Dankie Tumbling Tigerz🐯🤸‍♀️Tumbling Tigerz help ons leerders om fisies te ontwikkel deur gebruik te maak van hulle gespesialiseerde program. Hierdie program help ons leerders met hulle selfbeeld, goeie maniere en verbeter hulle luister vermoeë. Ons leerders leer ook verskeie belangrike lewensvaardighede.

Dcaps 3, 4 and 5 were privileged to have Nanette Minnaar from SANCA today for an informative talk and demonstration on substance abuse. We would like to thank you for your time and effort Nanette, it is truly appreciated.

DCAPS 5 ~ as part of our curriculum we learn how to pack your own lunch box. In Life Skills the learners made their own toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. We used the sandwiches as an example of what to pack in for lunch 🥪

Today our DCAPS 3 PID learners practiced their fine motor skills by peeling the shell off a boiled egg. They were pleasantly surprised by their results and snack afterwards. 🥚

Vandag het DCAPS 5.1 saam met Juffrou Louise gedurende ons Skeppende kuns die mooiste bakstene en klippe geverf. Dit was groot pret gewees en die leerders het dit baie geniet 🎨👏

Today DCAPS 5.1 painted the most beautiful bricks and stones with Teacher Louise during our Creative Art. It was great fun and the learners really enjoyed it 🎨👏

On this rainy Tuesday we celebrate the last day of Down's Syndrome Awareness Month. Our learners were treated to an indoor picnic, with yummy treats! Thank you to the staff that arranged this special treat.

October was first designated as National Down Syndrome Awareness Month in the 1980s and has been recognized every October since. It is a time to celebrate people with Down syndrome and make others aware of their abilities and accomplishments 💛

DCAPS R teachers and learners showed their support to the Springbok rugby 🏉 team by wearing green 💚 and gold (yellow) 💛 to school. GO BOKKE!!!🥳
