Lessons from Stronger Together and that astonishing Springbok win over England
*South Africa lost the lead inside 2 mins of the start
*South Africa took the lead for the only time with 2 mins remaining
*England will wonder how did they lose a game that they dominated and had the Springboks on the back foot for long long periods.
*The Springboks will reflect on how their plans misfired and yet draw immense strength on how they won a key match where they played so poorly. It’s possible.
*When things are not working change strategy quickly - Flyhalf Manie Libbok was replaced inside 30 mins for Handrè Pollard
*The arrival of The OX Nche changed the battle of the scrums - he was always going to come on but when he did he showed up. He turned the tide, he changed the momentum of the game.
* Pollard’s kick for the lineout that resulted in the only try of the match with 10 mins to go was pivotal. His penalty from the half way line for the second successive knockout match are the stuff that dreams are made of.
*The OX and Handre Pollard are great examples of showing up and stepping up
*The consistent unity of purpose of the 15 players on the pitch and the bench is evident
* The ability of the coaches Rassie Eramus and Jacques Nienaber to really understand th key drivers of each player and their families is fundamental to setting up a For South Africa culture in the team.
*The commitment of all players and coaching staff to execute on their own “why” , “Stronger Together” and “ For South Africa” is clear in their willingness to represent the collective of the entire team, the entire nation . They are the manifestation of Stronger Together
*The non rugby leadership question - how can we,in our own spaces show up, step up and commit to being Stronger Together, For South Africa?
*This result shows you how small shifts can change the psyche of a nation. Small steps become big shifts when repeated. The Springboks are able to inspire an entire nation on finding national purpose in a way that politicians are unable to do . How can we replicate that in our dealings in all sectors in South African life.
*How can we find our own “why” our reason for being? How can we embrace a “Stronger Together” leadership/ management principle?
How can we align our personal purpose to our national purpose? As we embrace the drive for both the Springboks and the Proteas to win the respective World Cups how can we internalise that and set in motion plans to win our “own” World Cup?
*Stronger Together can help us move South Africa into Champion South Africa status, to reach Champion Nation status, in all things , not just in rugby
Champion people build champion nations

Hopefully all these young teachers will make it to school tomorrow with all the aches and pains they're sure to experience after the game. Have a great evening Dalpark Private family.
Meet our two Eco-warriors, Naledi Mokoena and Oratile Machate. They have volunteered to go daily from class to class collecting the used yoghurt containers for recycling. South Africa commemorates National Book Week every first week of September. It is an initiative of the South African Book Development Council (SABDC) in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture.
Reading statistics report that only 14% of the South African population are active book readers, and a mere 5% of parents read to their children. National Book Week is an important initiative in encouraging the nation to value reading as a fun and pleasurable activity and to showcase how reading can easily be incorporated into one’s daily lifestyle.
Today we celebrated National Book Week with a 'book character dress up day' (see pictures) and a Drop All And Read (DAAR) event at 13h00 where all staff and learners had to stop all activities and read!
On Friday we had a Spring Day celebration as well as the Grade 7 Entrepreneurs Day. Learners had great fun and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Yesterday we hosted a Principal's meeting at our school. It was pleasing to note all the compliments we received from the other principals and the district officials.
