With many new archers making their mark and steadily climbing the rankings since the beginning of the year, we are incredibly proud to announce the PHA archers selected for the various AGA-WC teams to represent the Western Cape at this year’s Nationals in Jeffreys Bay!

But that’s not all! At this year’s AGA-WC Provincial Competition, PHA proudly secured:

1st Place – High School 2D Category
2nd Place – Bullseye Category
Gees Cup (Spirit Cup) Winners!

Winning the Gees Cup is especially meaningful, proving that our archers bring not only the heart, but the soul, too!

Congratulations to our selected archers and the entire PHA Archery Team! We are incredibly proud of every archer who has worked hard, improved and represented PHA with such passion and determination.

Congratulations to our outstanding Chess Teams, who delivered an exceptional performance at the CT HS District East Top Schools Chess Championships 2026.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our U19 Mixed Team and U19 Girls Team have both successfully defended their district championship titles.

Our U19 Mixed Team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and won all five of their matches. Congratulations to Bianca Hagan, Kamogelo Maruma, Shaqeel Petersen-Bizaare, Kylo Williams, Francois van Tonder, Dylan Adonis and Ulrich Koegelenberg. This team has also qualified for the Western Cape Top Schools Championships!

Our U19 Girls Team once again claimed the championship title, successfully defending their status as the leading U19 Girls team in the district. Congratulations to Esona Tshayana, Bertina Yaofanga Bolukaoto, Chey-Lea Ismail, Diana Mboyo and Helenah Joseph. This team has also qualified for the Western Cape Top Schools Championships!

Our U17 Mixed Team achieved a fantastic 3rd place overall. Congratulations to Jamie Sanderson, Matthew Pieterse, Lesedi Kojoana, Kenzo-Lee Amos, Joshua Okonji, Tyler Human-Wales and Connor Ashlin.

The U15 Mixed Team proudly represented PHA with commitment, sportsmanship and determination. Well done to Matthew Harrison, Lukholo Malusi and Eduan Chamberlain.

We wish our qualifying teams all the best as they prepare to compete at the Western Cape Top Schools Chess Championships! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who contributed to this remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to George Nieuwenhuys, who represented the Western Province Wrestling Association (WPWA) at the SAWF Greco-Roman National Championship in May.

Competing for Brackenfell Wrestling Club, George achieved an outstanding 2nd place in the GR President Juniors Greco-Roman 55 kg category.

George also competed in the U/20 Greco-Roman 55 kg category, gaining valuable national-level experience through his participation.

Congratulations to Jason February, who participated in the Kenwyn Martial Arts Tournament and won an impressive 3 Gold Medals! His remarkable achievements placed him 4th in the Top 10 Individuals.

We are proud to congratulate Charlize Langeveldt on her outstanding achievement in representing the Western Province Rugby Union at the U18 FNB Girls Week in Gqeberha.

Charlize proudly took to the field at scrumhalf (No. 9), delivering an exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

Western Province faced the Pumas, Golden Lions and Eastern Province, finishing the tournament as the unofficial champions.

Charlize's impressive performances earned her a well-deserved place in the SA Schools U18 Team.

Unfortunately, during the final against Eastern Province, Charlize sustained an injury in the final minute of the match, ruling her out of the SA Schools squad. While this was undoubtedly a heartbreaking setback, we have no doubt that this is only the beginning of many more great achievements.
