This past weekend, we were proud to celebrate the strength, resilience, leadership, and achievements of women in karate at the Karate Western Cape Women’s Month Training & Motivational Workshop.
The event brought together female karate athletes, coaches, officials, mothers, family members, and women interested in karate, fitness, and healthy living for a day of training, mentorship, inspiration, and empowerment.
The programme included an energetic Karobics warm-up with Sensei Coral Jacobs, an elite training circuit led by some of the Western Cape’s most accomplished female karate practitioners, including Sensei Sandra Louw, South Africa’s only World Champion, and Sensei Marinda Roetz, as well as an inspirational programme with Sensei Mary-Ann Landers as guest of honour, together with Sensei Nellie Kleinsmidt.
This event was about more than training. It was about building confidence, encouraging leadership, strengthening mentorship, supporting women in sport, and inspiring the next generation of girls to reach their full potential both on and off the tatami.
Women play a powerful role in karate, not only as athletes, but as coaches, leaders, mentors, mothers, supporters, and role models.
We are proud to stand together in celebration of Women’s Month.
The programme was led by the Karate Western Cape President, Sensei Carol-Anne Daniels.
