Stillness doesn't mean nothing is happening๐
Looking at the Dikkop egg in our garden, it seems like nothing is happening. Yet beneath that speckled shell, a massive transformation is happening every second !
If you are feeling stuck in a heavy "waiting room " of life please remember this : Unseen growth is still growth !!

๐ฑ Natureโs Lesson on the Power of a Strategic Pause
For the past few weeks, Iโve been sharing the journey of the Dikkop (Spotted Thick-knee) parents nesting in our garden. We are about 6 days away from the big hatch! ๐ฅโจ
But a few days ago, the reality of the outside world crashed in. The loud roar of lawn mowers and the movement of gardeners filled the yard. Frightened by the chaos, the parents did something that might look like giving up: they flew away and left the egg completely exposed on the bare earth.
If you didn't know bird behavior, you might think they abandoned their future. But they didn't. They simply knew that staying to fight the giant, noisy machines was futile. They waited out the noise from a safe distance, and the moment the chaos cleared, they returned right back to their duty.
How often do we face overwhelming "noise" in our livesโacute stress, toxic environments, or sudden crisesโand feel guilty for needing to step back? We tell ourselves we have to push through, fight the machine, or stand our ground until we burn out. But true resilience looks a lot like these birds.
When you are navigating difficult times, remember:
1. Stepping away to protect your peace is strategy, not failure. You aren't abandoning your dreams; you are preserving the person who has to execute them.
2. Waiting is rarely passive. Even when the parents were away, and the egg sat entirely still on the dirt, massive, beautiful internal transformation was happening under the surface.
If you are currently in a heavy season of waiting, or if the noise around you has forced you to take a temporary step back: take a deep breath. Trust the process. The noise will clear, you will return, and what youโve been incubating will hatch. ๐ค
