Receiving My Protea Cap 13/06/2026

It was one of the proudest moments of my life. I had been invited to a special function where I would officially receive my Protea cap for angling. As I walked into the venue, I felt excited and honoured to be surrounded by talented anglers, coaches, and supporters who had all played a role in my journey.

The ceremony was filled with pride and emotion. When my name was called, I walked to the stage and received my Protea cap. At that moment, I realised that all the early mornings, long hours of practice, and dedication had been worth it. Wearing the Protea cap for the first time was a dream come true.

Being capped as a Protea angler is more than just receiving a cap. It represents hard work, commitment, and the privilege of representing South Africa. Looking around the room, I felt grateful to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates who supported me every step of the way.

That day will always remain a special memory. Receiving my Protea cap was not only a personal achievement but also a reminder of the responsibility and honour of wearing the green and gold. I left the function feeling proud, inspired, and determined to continue making my country proud. 🇿🇦🎣
