Saturday night short story time.

Once upon a time, there was a cat named Whiskers who was convinced he was a dog. He’d chase his tail, bark at mailmen (or at least try), and even attempted to fetch. The neighborhood dogs thought he was hilarious, while the other cats rolled their eyes and strutted away.

Whiskers' owner, Mrs. Puddleworth, would chuckle every time he tried to bring her a stick, his little paws awkwardly dragging it across the floor. But no matter how much he tried, he could never quite figure out why his fetch wasn’t as graceful as the dogs.

One day, a big thunderstorm rolled through, and all the neighborhood dogs, known for their tough-guy attitudes, hid under porches and couches. Whiskers, on the other hand, strutted out into the rain, thinking this was his chance to prove he was the bravest “dog” around. He stood in the middle of the yard, meowing, “Come on, storm! Is that all you’ve got?”

Just then, a tiny, soaked puppy appeared, shivering and lost. Without hesitation, Whiskers ran over, picked the puppy up by the scruff (as only a cat could) and carried it inside to safety. Mrs. Puddleworth dried off the puppy and snuggled him in a blanket.

When the storm cleared, the puppy curled up beside Whiskers, looking at him with wide, admiring eyes. “You’re the best dog I’ve ever met,” the puppy said.

Whiskers purred proudly. He knew, deep down, that he wasn’t really a dog. But in that moment, being a cat had never felt so right.

Dear SpaceKidz Parents,

We are excited to announce that SpaceKidz will be offering Creative Play Classes on Saturday, 31 August, and 7 September, specifically for the Bunny, Squirrels, Foxies, Koalas, Llamas, Unicorns, Pandas and Wolves classes. This initiative is designed to give our busy moms and dads the opportunity to take care of errands or simply enjoy some free time while knowing your little ones are in safe hands.

Our dedicated teachers will be available at SpaceKidz from 08:30 until 15:00 on both Saturdays. We will provide breakfast for the children, and we kindly ask that parents send lunch and/or snacks along with their child.

The pricing for these Creative Play Saturdays is as follows:
- R100 per child
- R150 for two children
- R200 for three children from the same family

Please note that family members who are not currently enrolled in Spacekidz are also welcome to join in the fun! Payments can be made on the day of the event.

Splish, Splash, We're Ready to Dash!

Splish, splash, it’s time to cheer,
SPACEKIDZ swimming is finally here!
Starting Monday, September two,
We'll jump in the pool, and swim like a crew!

With floaties on arms and goggles on eyes,
We’ll dive in the water and reach for the skies!
Kicking our feet and learning to glide,
We’ll have so much fun with each stroke and stride!

So pack up those towels, get swimsuits too,
Don’t forget snacks and maybe a shoe.
Parents, don’t worry—we’ll be safe and sound,
Our little swimmers are pool-bound!

So join us for fun and splashes galore,
We’re ready to swim—who could ask for more?
