🌟 MATRIC SPOTLIGHT: MASINGITA SHILOWA 🌟
Since joining Curro Parkdene in 2019, Masingita Shilowa has embraced the vibrant cultural life of our school, making her mark as a passionate performer, dedicated leader and talented vocalist. As a member of the school choir since its establishment, she has spent her high school journey nurturing her love for the performing arts and discovering the power of her own voice.
Through her involvement in CAS (Curro Arts Superhero) and Curro Create projects, Masingita had the opportunity to be mentored by professionals in the creative industry, developing valuable skills in singing, stage performance and self-confidence.
🏆 Her proudest achievements include:
✨ Serving as the LRC Head of Culture at Curro Parkdene.
✨ Achieving a Kryptonite in the “Sing It” category at CAS for five consecutive years — a remarkable testament to her talent, dedication and consistency.
Beyond these achievements, Masingita’s years of performing have transformed her confidence and strengthened her communication skills. From commanding the stage to delivering prepared and unprepared speeches and English orals, she has learned to express herself with confidence and embrace every opportunity to lead.
🎶 Her final-year highlights included concluding her CAS journey with one last Kryptonite achievement and participating in the Ke Nako! Choir Festival of Voices, where she was surrounded by fellow creatives who share her passion for singing.
Masingita’s journey is a beautiful reminder that culture is more than performance; it is a space where confidence is built, leadership is nurtured and lifelong passions are discovered.
