In which seminars regarding contemporary and academic topics; (live performances, drama, music, etc.), will be hosted to promote education and awareness. The knowledge learned will be used to perform issues around the student community and South Arica, around the three campuses to educate the student community about their surroundings. One could call UFSM the dawn of an art new movement. The movement in which diversity and equality is considered of most high value. UFSM provides a platform of performance for dancers, painters, musicians and all kinds of arts that are amongst student community. The performances will be recorded and posted on social networks to heighten the awareness. We also provide adequate skills for students who have artistic talents to rediscover their artistic creativity. This is a means to give the students skills and technics to use when dealing with stress. Since UFSM, is a concept based association, our Logo is a pine cone, a symbol of strength and unity, internal and external beauty, diversity, synchronicity and wholeness. A pinecone is strong, has a shape of a tree, and is genuine, which is what UFSM is. The colours used represent the diversity of the UFSM. The orange colours represents the Humanities, the purple colour represents the state of freedom, i.e. royalty. The red and blue represents the University of the Free State. UFSM’s vision is to promote art education and education through the arts. Hence, our slogan is “ Art education. Education through the arts”.
