We are honoured to have received the following achievements from the UFS SRC Associations Council Office;

2) International Act recognition

We receive this absolute warmth and gratitude for all the support we have received from the student community, the SRC office and our Chair of Chairs , the Student Governance office and the bigger debating circuit.🙏🏽🙏🏽 Special thank you to all our members and Executive Committee for having shown exceptional dedication towards making the platform what it is.🙏🏽

Once again, the UFSDS is proud to announce the following outcomes from the Southern African National Universities Championships which is one of the largest and most prestigious debate tournaments in the SADC debating region, the final series of the tournament took place on Saturday , the 13th;

1) The team consisting of Semola Khumalo and Kamohelo Kolanchu advanced all the way to the ESL Final round of the tournament.

2) P**e Mmula, who is our in-house coach was recognised as the 2nd best institutional judge of the tournament.

3) Asemahle Noholoza, the Chairperson was recognised as the best Institutional Judge of the tournament.

We take absolute pride and joy in every of the said accomplishments and express gratitude for the opportunity to do what we love.🙏🏽

An official update on the Jozi Rumble tournament hosted by the Wits Debating Union that some of our members had attended this past weekend;

1) Team Maximus ( P**e Mmula and Bontle Thateng) broke first in the Quaterfinals Break, and subsequently made it as Top 6 speakers of the tournament.

2) The Society was also represented by team Leech (Busi and Thando), Team Loki (Brian and Kamo) and Team Man-Ape (Deolene and Semola) who were the Novice Team which faired well and had learnt a lot from the experience. We'd like to express our extreme pride in these speakers for having taken the leap and never giving up. 🙏🏽⚡

3) Asemahle broke as a quarters judge and subsequently judged the Novice Finals.
