In our journey of establishing Tjhebelopele Institute of Agriculture (TIA) as an institution of agriculture, we have, perhaps without consciously intending to, found ourselves closely aligned with the philosophy of Wabi-sabi. Wabi-sabi teaches us to appreciate the beauty in imperfection, incompleteness and continuous evolution.

TIA was not built overnight, nor was every step perfect. It has been shaped through experimentation, challenges, partnerships, lessons, setbacks and steady progress. Each phase has added something to the institution we are becoming.

We have learned that building something meaningful does not always require waiting for perfect conditions. Sometimes you begin with what you have, improve what you can, learn from what does not work and allow the institution to grow organically through experience.
From training our first learners to developing practical agricultural facilities, establishing partnerships, expanding our programmes and creating platforms for young people and farmers, TIA continues to evolve.

There is still much to build. There is still much to improve. And perhaps that is the point.
An institution, much like agriculture itself, is never truly finished. It is cultivated season by season.

We are learning to appreciate the beauty of becoming.

Tjhebelopele Institute of Agriculture (TIA) invites high schools to participate in our Grade 11 & 12 Agricultural Career Engagement Programme.

Our team visits schools to engage learners about the exciting opportunities available in agriculture and to expose them to agricultural careers, post-school study pathways, agribusiness, innovation, technology, plant production and animal production.
The programme is designed to help learners make informed career choices and to encourage more young people to consider agriculture as a professional, entrepreneurial and academic pathway after matric.

Schools interested in hosting TIA for a career talk, agricultural awareness session or learner engagement programme are invited to contact us to arrange a suitable date.
