How are different experiences of time created, observed, and negotiated across societies shaped by power, governance, and historical change?
Join Kosuke Sakai from Kobe University, Japan, for the next Public Law Seminar Series lecture, where he will present a systems-theoretical perspective on temporal difference and its relevance to contemporary social and historical analysis.
The discussion will be enriched by a response from Alta Grobbelaar and promises valuable insights for scholars and students across law, sociology, political studies, history, philosophy, and the humanities.

The Faculty of Law continues to advance its tradition of academic and advocacy excellence.
This year marked a historic first as an all women UFS Law team competed in the prestigious 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. Engaging with complex legal issues and showcasing exceptional research, written advocacy, and oral argument skills.
We commend these students for representing the University of the Free State with distinction and for demonstrating the excellence that defines UFS Law.
